My name is Gabriel Aroso and in brief words I’ll tell you how Osteopathy appeared in my life, what is it and how it can help you.
I worked in nursing for 6 years when in the Summer of 2012 due to a pain in my right wrist I asked my Osteopath friend for help. I didn’t understand what he did but the pain was gone and I recovered full mobility in my wrist. Two questions had emerged: What happened ? How did he treat me with only his hands, without the use of any medication or invasive tecniques ? I was curious.
In that same year, I applied for a Osteopathy course that lasted from 2012 to 2014. Following that I did supervised internship for 6 months.
As an Osteopath I can treat and improve the quality of life of those who seek me, releasing them from acute and chronic pains caused from daily postures, osteoarticular diseases, adhensions from surgical interventions, traumas, scars and little incidents from the day to day life, I can also treat vestibular syndromes that provoke changes in the balance and vertigo, among other signs and symptoms.
If you’re experiencing any pain or changes in your balance, contact me. I’m here to help.
Ostheopathy has 4 base concepts: Holism, Structure vs Function, Law of the Artery and Self-healing. It doesn’t treat pathologies nor injuries but Somatic Dysfunctions(SD), also known as Osteopathic Lesions, and it has its own diagnostic method based on the evaluation of the Asymmetries, Restrictions and Soft Tissues, known in Osteopathy as ARS diagnostic.
Base concepts in Osteopathy:
Somatic Dysfunction(SD) – any disturbance in the function of the body structure, for instance, skeletal, articulary and myofascial structure, vascular elements(veins and arteries), lymphatics and associated nerves.
Holism – the body has to be evaluated and treated as a whole, in order to be balanced. The Ostheopathy treats the cause of pain, not only the pain itself. The body structures that are disturbed create compensations in the body as a defense mechanism provoking somatic dysfunctions. Many times the cause of pain is located in a far zone from the anatomical region that’s in pain. However, diagnosing and treating the disturbances to its normal state, according to the body structure, recovering the functional and dynamic balance, within the limits of each person, and fading the pain away. The objective of Osteopathy is to achieve Balance, in other words, Homeostasis.
Structure vs Function – for every body structure(muscle, tendon, fascia, nerve, bone, etc.) there is one or more specific function.
Law of the Artery – Blood and its derivatives (for instance lymph and cerebrospinal fluid) have primary fuctions: to oxygenate, to nourish, to "clean" and to detoxify the cells. By regaining structural balance, homeostasis, conditions for the normal flow of the areas to treat are created allowing to optimize the role of the blood and its derivatives, benefiting the tissues irrigated by them.
Self-healing – When restoring the balance of the body structures, this has the ability to finish the cure process.
"A severe accident while training in 2015 with a fracture in the vertebra L1. Resulted in four months, immobilized, with a lumbar vest, during that time moving was very difficult and the pain was very intense, to the point where I couldn’t sleep much less practice sports. That’s when I asked for an appointment with the Osteopath, Gabriel Aroso, and after many sessions in his hands I didn’t only recover with his treatments but also came back stronger to the competion. Excelent ! That you so much for your work !"
"In November of 2016, in great physical shape, I had an work accident that stopped me from working for four months, it was a tendon rupture in the left shoulder. Two months of physiotherapy(from the insurance) and then I was told I had chronic shoulder and there was nothing that could be done. So I seeked for the help of the osteopath Gabriel Aroso once more and his hands did a great job again. Currently I’m fine ! I recovered mobility in the shoulder, feeling no pain, but more important is that I can apply pressure in the shoulder, therefore I’m back working and praticing my favourite sport. Thank you Gabriel Aroso.”
“I hereby testify the efficiency of osteopathy’s treatment. In 2014, as the result of years of working as an secretary, around seven and a half hours daily, I was given as a present cervical and lumbar hernias. I had trouble walking, lifting weights, I used to climb stairs in all fours and I even fell on the street while holding on to my husband. However I was recomended a person to whom now I call my saviour: Gabriel Aroso that due to his age I consider him a son."
I recomend his treatment to anyone that suffers from the same conditions. It’s effective and today, not cured evidently, because hernias don’t go away, I feel with energy, I can walk normally and I can easily lift smaller weights. Thank you Gabriel. With all due respect I send him a hug.”
“I was feeling intense pain in my left foot and my ankle was swelling due to the effort, walking was a torture. Today I can walk normally without pain or swelling thanks to the treatment that the osteopath Gabriel Aroso gave me.”
“I want to share my experience related to treatment I had with the osteopath Gabriel Aroso: I’m an amateur practitioner of futsal, running and MTB, throughout the last years I suffer from pain in my back and knees. I’ve done many treatments but unfortunately nothing worked until I started a new treatment with osteopath Gabriel Aroso and right on the first appointment I felt that something was changing."
In the second session, Gabriel identified the source of pain,I had Leg Length Inequality, It was in that time that he advised me to also see a podiatrist to make some corrective insoles, so that together they could fix my problem. About a month passed since I started using the insoles and with some osteopathy’s treatments I started smiling again... A big THANK YOU for the effort and professionalism that I was always treated with."
“It was a blessing to encounter Gabriel. I had a lot of pain, few mobility, I couldn’t lift my left leg and my back and arms hurted for everything, It was difficult. After some sessions I started to recover and now I live a normal life. I do gymnastics, play with my grandchildren, everything I need. Of course it’s important to know that he(Gabriel) will be there if I need and I’ll come back if that’s the case. Thank you, Gabriel !”
